Leadership Team

Antwerp Christian Fellowship is led by servant leaders including our elders and wives. Meet our team.

Trent & Julie Johnson

Trent and Julie have served in full-time church leadership for more than 35 years. Trent has also served as a hospice chaplain and as an adjunct instructor at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul. Julie worked for UNWSP for 20 years, organizing and leading domestic and international ensemble music tours and directing the University’s community music school. Trent and Julie have two adult children, a DIL and grandson living in the U.S. and a daughter, SIL and granddaughter in Bangkok, Thailand. Together, they share a passion for international travel and cross-cultural service.

For Trent, the opportunity to work with an international congregation is the fulfilment of a long-term desire. He is committed to the speaking and teaching of God’s Word and to the growth and development of the local church body. In his service to ACF, he seeks to promote the work of God’s grace in and through the life of the congregation and its individual participants so as to impact Antwerp and the world beyond for God’s glory.

Jan-Willem & Eun Jung

Living with their two daughters in Antwerp, they have served in the ACF community since 2010. Before that they lived in New York City, where they worked at Hope for New York as part of Redeemer Presbyterian Church.

Challenged by ‘the Kingdom here and not yet’, they are grateful for life with and for God. Eun Jung, originally from South Korea, teaches at university and leads the ACF youth ministry. Jan-Willem, a native of Antwerp, is a technology entrepreneur and a long-time member of the ACF VZW board.

André & Georgia

With André raised in a reformed tradition and Georgia pentecostal, it quickly became apparent that faith and tradition are virtually inseparable.  What started out as a 3 year study abroad program for these South African “newly-weds” slowly turned into a journey that led to the questioning of one’s culture, traditions and values and the discovery of true freedom when the name of Jesus Christ is called upon for the forgiveness of sins. Throughout this journey, and still continuing to this very day, it was the people attending ACF, answering the call to serve Him through their actions and their words, that have left an impact that will last a lifetime.

Francois & Alice

François and Alice arrived at the ACF in 2006. Both of them are originally from Rwanda; they have Catholic backgrounds and attended Catholic secondary schools. From an early age, they have been fascinated by life in community as they actively participated in Christian youth/student movements and unions.
François and Alice are now living in Antwerp with their four daughters, who also enjoy the
warmth of ACF. They are happy to see two of their daughters participate in the Praise & Worship team, two in the Offering Ministry and one in the Children Ministry (World Changers). François leads the Offering Ministry and the Hoboken Home Group. Alice helps the Children Ministry from time to time. She works as a nurse, whereas François is a sworn-in translator/interpreter and Anti-Money Laundering analyst.

Farid & Marilize

Farid has been a member of the ACF community since 2011. He met his wife, Marilize, there in 2016.
Together, they have served the local church in various areas. Coming from different cultural
backgrounds and church traditions (South African Pentecostal and Belgian-Moroccan evangelical),
they have grown increasingly aware of the riches, blessings and challenges that such differences
entail, including in a congregational setting. Their joint interest and involvement in education and
linguistics have established in them a strong desire to both see and help the church use its great
diversity – in love and unity – to its own edification and its Saviour’s glory.

Ministry Leaders

We are blessed with many ministry leaders and deacons who faithfully give of their time and talents to oversee various areas and programs at our church. To learn more about our ministries, see “Our Ministries” page. https://antwerpchristianfellowship.org/our-ministries/
